My IE is acting up...?uninstall internet explorer

If your going to get a virus from a site, its most likely going to be with Internet Explorer then Firefox.

My IE is acting up...?microsoft.com internet explorer

WOW THE GUY AT THE COMPUTER STORE IS A LIAR.

Everybody knows firefox is far more secure the I.E.

It's a proven fact.
Ugh... you've been talking to idiots. FireFox does not cause any problems other than huge memory leaks and occasional security holes.

I would get rid of Norton and use Nod32 if you desire an antivirus. Then, reinstall IE, make sure that you configure the zones properly, and then remove execute permission from the local settings folder for your user account. Congrats, IE is secure.

I would also run housecall.trendmicro.com and system file checker.

To run system file checker, Start%26gt;%26gt;run, type in "sfc /scannow" and hit enter.
Norton Internet security is probably causing the issue. Norton does that! Try this:

On the IE toolbar go to Tools | Manage Add-ons | Enable and Disable Add-ons, find the reference to Norton Internet Security, or anything Norton. Click it on then go down and disable the feature(s). Then shut down IE and restart. See if that helps. Then call Norton and tell them that their software is broken! :-)
Go the microsoft website and re-download I%26gt;E 7 if it still doesn't work try these popular browsers

www.mozilla.com

www.opera.com
Agree that Firefox is more secure that IE. Norton is also known to slow your computer down. Three free solutions:

Firefox

Zone Alarm (firewall)

AVG (Antivirus)

I would remove (uninstall) Norton and replace it with the above.
your best bet is to get rid of norton and firefox doesn`t cause viruses. it blocks viruses. spysweeper is a good program to have on your computer and it works well with norton.
